Hi,

I just found some interesting blog at
http://blog.firedaemon.com/2009/08/10/accessing-session-zero-on-demand/

They switch to and from session0 using winsta.dll (which is even present
on XP machines)

The WTS...() routines seem to use winsta.dll as well.

WINSTA.DLL exports a bunch of functions with interesting names. But I
could't find a bit of documentation for it.

Can anybody point me out links or bits of info regarding that dll, please?

Not sure if this is helpful, but here is a link to download a document
describing the Interactive Service Detection in page 7:

Impact of Session 0 Isolation on Services and Drivers in Windows
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/sysinternals/Session0Changes.mspx

Also see:

Application Compatibility: Session 0 Isolation

Perhaps if you describe what you are trying to achieve rather than solve the
problem in a certain way, others may have other suggestions.

Hi nobody,

we are trying to "convert" some apps ours to (pseudo) services using
firedaemon.

The folks @firedaemon mentioned that winsta.dll contains among others
WinStationSwitchToServiceSession to switch to the services'
winsta\desktop. That works pretty well.

This method is is quite "rough", though. I was wondering if there are
other useful functions hidden in that dll and so I google'd it.

But only little info popped up.....

The exported function names sound promising - I'm curious :-)
